INTRODUCTION
I often wonder what my family and I would have done if my father-in-law, Dino Pavese had not set up this business in Spain. We would probably have stayed in Italy, following the family business or doing something else, but I would never have started manufacturing ice creams. Therefore, it is thanks to my father-in-law that I got involved in this very special world which brings together experience, fantasy, daring and feelings for others. It is, without a doubt, a profession in which a person gets closer to society in a privileged way, in the sense that customers grow with you and, as the years pass, you realise that you have played an important role in their lives. They have entrusted you with some of their most precious assets, their children, and this responsibility encourages you to do things better and, above all, not to misplace the trust they have placed in you.
Thirty years have gone by and what gives me most pride is seeing someone who came to the ice cream parlour as a child with their parents and who is now bringing you their own children. This is, without the slightest doubt, the most important recognition as a person and as a professional. This is our reward for constant work, innovation and social integration.
Today’s marketing shows us that we need to create customer loyalty. For us, this is no great novelty and we are aware that the only way to achieve it is by doing things well, being consistent and honest and, above all, applying these values to our job. Our family is a large one in which both we and our customers are involved and in which we all have a very important task to carry out. Handing out “customer cards” is not enough if you do not later meet their expectations or if you then change your philosophy.
In short, being successful over all these years involves significant effort and dedication, applying all your energy in becoming a better person, day after day. This is the most important award that I have received from our clients over the years.
